Cours III – The Intermediary Dr Alain Aubé
Understanding our beautiful joint
Profile
In the same way hinges determinate how a door closes, the TMJ’s dictate how the maxillaries meet.
The TMJs are small orthopedic entities. They may suffer from displaced discs, torn ligaments, growth defects and/or wear. These defects all affect the patient’s bite.
Objectives
Make the TMJ and its role in the system easy to understand.
Understand how muscles, joints, teeth and their supporting tissues work together and how defects and weaknesses lead to progressive degeneration.
